These transcriptions are the work of 40 years that I undertook to understand the improvised language of Bob Berg who I believe to be a synthesis of modern Jazz (from Parker to Coltrane). I have picked the period of Bob Berg which I enjoy most, and therefore you’ll find little Fusion and little from the period with Miles Davis. I am not a professional. In fact, I am a retired pediatrician. I don’t have academic aspirations,but I believe to have understood a lot of things about the construction of Berg’s wonderful solos,and I have tried to understand what he was thinking while he played.
